Plants in home

Comfort Maximized – From New Plants to Furnace Service

With cooler temperatures settled in and days that seem like there’s very little any sunshine, it can be hard to always feel like your home is a comfortable place to be. That spreads far beyond completing annual furnace service too, because there are a variety of things you can do to help make your home feel comfortable even when your furnace is running at its best.

Here are four that we find very helpful here in Colorado Springs:

  • Seal air leaks. Air leaks, whether they’re around your windows or your doors, may mean a great deal of air is escaping your home. It goes without saying that the air that you’ve just paid to be heated or cooled is going outside as well. There are a host of fixes that can help you shut those gaps, from weatherstripping to caulking, and they are relatively basic fixes for homeowners to handle themselves.
  • Change your furnace filter. This is one of the most crucial things you can do to not only increase your furnace’s efficiency, but also to help save you on your bills. Plus, you don’t need to have your furnace service technician to do it, you can do it yourself. It’s typically recommended to switch your furnace filter every one or two months to get the most out of its performance, but some may last even longer.
  • Add plants. Indoor plants can offer a host of comforts for your home. Not only are they visually pleasing, they may likely boost your indoor air quality as well because plants absorb a number of contaminants that are emitted from a host of common household cleaners, paints and other products.
  • Furnace service. This should be something that you’re already doing, but it never hurts to get a reminder. Having furnace service performed annually helps you make certain that your furnace is in working-order, and if there’s a need for repairs, those can be fixed so your comfort isn’t compromised.

It doesn’t have to feel hard to keep a comfortable home when winter sets in. Feel free to give us a call at 719-332-3458 or schedule an appointment online to talk about any of these suggestions or find out more about furnaces, our furnace service or anything else comfort related.
